Collection for Portland Fashion Week 2006

Bio

visionary artist. yogi. dreamer.

Lenore is an innovative young artist who works with a wide variety of mediums, from textiles, to printmaking, painting to experimental movement. Her passion lies within the arts and she uses her talents as a form of creative expression, to help herself and others release themselves from barriers created by fear, by society and self-judgment. She feels her purpose is to interact in society using art as a form of cross-cultural communication.

Lenore utilizes many different natural techniques, trying to bring her art closer to Mother Nature, to the source. She is very focused on the preservation of traditional crafts, fair-trade, and the women’s labour movement. Lenore plans on dedicating her efforts to bring more light and justice to these areas, while enhancing her skills to be able to spread the knowledge.

Lenore studied Apparel Design and Fine Arts at Oregon State University and AIU-London. During this time she interned at Chanel Inc, NYC and Alex Gore Browne Knitwear Designs, London. After she graduated, she was invited to participate in Portland Fashion Week and then moved onto Kripalu Yoga and Health Center in Lenox Massachusetts to deepen her knowledge and appreciation of yoga. Here she was deeply engaged in community living, and self-less service.

Lenore then decided to follow her curiosity of different cultures and traditional crafts to Asia, where she studied Batik in Indonesia and Thailand, and Yoga in Northern India. During this venture into the unknown she widened her worldly perception and dove deep into the depths of herself.

Recently, Lenore began to incorporate her love for costume design with her joy in dancing, and is experimenting with performance art, many which play with the ideas of interactive sculptures and experimental movement.

May the peace and love that is cultivated within our hearts and actions bring more peace and love into the universe…
